Once Upon a Pancake Releases Unfinished Coffee Table Book

SAN FRANCISCO, Sep. 6 — Once Upon a Pancake, a coffee table book full of stories we write together, launches today. It offers a fun way to jump-start your imagination, collaborate, and take a break from screen-time.

“I wrote this book because it’s fun to make stuff up together,” says Rick Benger, creator of Once Upon a Pancake. “It’s wonderful to share your imagination, try to bend and squish little stories together.”

The book contains over 100 unfinished stories in a variety of formats and styles. You just pick up a pen and write whatever your imagination desires, and then the next person comes along and adds something, and so on, and so the stories grow. It’s like a creative version of a bed & breakfast guest book. It’s also like a sort of exquisite corpse, mad libs, party game kinda thing.

“I love it,” says Jennifer, a sculptor from LA. “I never thought that story about a lemonade stand would end up including Oprah and the ghost of Chairman Mao!”

About Once Upon a Pancake:
